I just upgraded my Pixel 2 to Oreo 8.1. Pokemon legend of monster download for android computer.
Now I can no longer deploy my app to my phone. The debug drop down grays out my phone and says incompatible API level.
I have gone into the SDK manager in Xamarin for Mac and installed SDK 27. However I notice some odd things with this. Notice the duplicate entry in the list, when I click the duplicate it doesn't think it needs to install anything. So I am not sure if this SDK version installed correctly. I suspect not, hence the error I am getting
I have my project set to target the 'latest framework' version. But this seems to only go to SDK 26 (8.0) (again I suspect because it doesn't think SDK 27 is installed).
Is anyone else having issues installing SDK 27 in Xamarin for Mac?

I am kind of hosed right now because of this. I can't deploy to my phone to test and I need to test a bluetooth feature which obviously the emulator doesn't support. I suppose I could try downgrading my phone but that seems like a painful idea

- Another bit of info. I ran the sdkmanager from the command line and it thinks that Android 27 is installed. So there seems to be some sort of bug between the latest version of sdkmanager and Visual Studio for mac that is causing this issue?
- One other thing. I have the latest version of Visual Studio for Mac installed
7.3.2 (build 12) - USXamarin Team, University, Developer Group LeaderXamuraiHi Brad,One thing to consider is that we are currently working on our Android 8.1 Preview bindings and once they are released in the preview channel, you will be able to compile and deploy against API 27 (Android 8.1).Right now there is no support for this API level as it requires the bindings to be present in order for the IDE to understand the device version and thus why it comes up as 'Incompatible' although you have them installed via the Android SDK.For the time being, I would recommend staying on API 26 (Android 8.0), or having a development device that is not upgraded to 8.1 until we release support for it! It's right around the corner however, so you won't have to wait too long
- @JonDouglas thanks for the update. How soon is 'soon'?
- edited December 2017I have experienced the same problem with VS 2017 with Xamarin.Android 8.1.0.25 on windows with essentially the same symptoms. I've deployed my Xamarin.Forms app in this state (having API 27 installed, but only able to target API 26) and it works normally on phones with Android 8.0 and lower, it works on a Pixel 1 XL/Android 8.1, and it works fine on the Pixel2/Android 8.1 emulator, but when it runs on a real Pixel2/Android 8.1 phone it fails trying to make an SSL connection with 'Error: mono-io-layererror (10013)'. I'm wondering why it doesn't fail this way on the emulator? Perhaps it's because the emulator is using the host pc's LAN instead of a real WiFi connection? Also, is this likely to go away when Xamarin official support Android 8.1 or is it more likely a bug in my code somewhere?
- @JonDouglas any chance we can get an update on when proper 8.1 support will come (even if just to the alpha channel)?Any place we can vote to push this issue higher in the queue? It is making it impossible for me to debug my app effectively. Thanks
- USXamarin Team, University, Developer Group LeaderXamuraiYou will see it in 15.6 Preview 2 which is right around the corner. See the preview release notes and release rhythm to get an idea of when:
- Thanks for the update @JonDouglas . This appears to be specific to VS on Windows. Will the same support be released to VS for Mac at the same time? Looking at their preview release notes it looks like they are different.Any insight on the VS for Mac side? Or know someone who can share their insight here? Thanks again for the prompt responses.
- USXamarin Team, University, Developer Group LeaderXamuraiYes, Mac releases are typically tied to major Visual Studio releases.EX:
- Hi guys,I have the same problem. I have an app on play store. And when I download and open on Google Pixel 2 XL (Oreo 8.1) the app crashes on its start up.
I have tested the app in an emulator with Oreo 8.0 and it works quite well. Can I suggest to me any solution for my app?
Should I update the target api or something? Thanks,
Regards
